My recent work has been inspired by the large skies above the Flint Hills and the tall grass prairie of Kansas. But while my paintings start with the landscape -they are less about a particular geographic location and more about a state of mind.
Robinson's work includes mixed media watercolors drawn directly on site as well as large scale oils completed in her studio. She splits her time between her studios in Vermont and Kansas. Her paintings have been inspired by the deserts of Egypt and monuments of Petra as well as by the Badlands in South Dakota and the rocky shores of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. She has also taught at a number of universities in the States and at The American University in Cairo and is currently in the Art department at Kansas State University. Her artist residencies include The American College of Greece, The Colorado College, The Ragdale Foundation and a Fulbright Grant to paint for a year in Portugal.
