| Egyptian Portfolio | A native of New England (with a studio in Marlboro, Vermont) Marrin Robinson lived in Egypt from 1999-2006 where she taught Art and was head of the Art Unit at The American University in Cairo. Fall 2005 she was Artist in Residence at The American College of Greece. This portfolio of oil paintings and mixed media watercolors are based on her travels in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Greece. While the work is inspired by landscape it is also based on place as seen, experienced, remembered and imagined; place as a state of mind and emotion as much as one of geography. |
